INTERVIEW

Interview Preparation

Preparation is the first essential step towards a successful interview. Employers are continually amazed at the number of candidates who have not prepared and possess little or no information.

1. Some employers will look at your social media photos, like your profile pictures on Facebook, Instagram and etc. It may be the first impression they have of you. We recommend you make sure your social media photos look professional.

2. Refresh your memory on the facts and figures of your PRESENT/FORMER employer. You will be expected to know a lot about a family that you have previously worked for.

Tips for Interview

1. Ensure that you know the exact date and time of interview, the employer’s name and the correct pronunciation

2. Dress in professional. Don’t wear anything too casual, like shirts with big logo or slogan, or anything that reveals too much skin.

3. Try to arrive (Be ready in our App) 5 to 10 minutes early to be safe. Make sure you text or call the employer if you are running late.

4. Keep eye contact during the interview to show that you are professional and confident.

5. Prepare the questions you will ask and remember that an interview is a ‘two-way street’. The employer will try to determine through questioning if you have the qualifications necessary to do the job.

6. Probing questions you might ask…

(a) What would I be doing each day?

(b) What is the starting salary?

(c) Which day will be my rest day?

(d) What will be the sleeping arrangement? Will I have my own room, or will I be sharing with someone else?

(e) Do you provide shared food or food allowance?

After Interview

Text the employer to say something like “Dear Mr/Mrs , this is xxxxxxx. Thank you for your time today. It was good to meet you, please get in touch if you have any more questions.”
